The vintage chairs bring to mind past habits and ways of living (and of sitting). Like every object produced, they are the reflection of a form of thought: in 1968 the designers Gatti, Paolini and Teodoro designed the soft and colorful beanbag, a sort of pouf with backrest, a claim to greater informality and relaxation, a design that declared “I sit as I want”. In short, a true revolution that spoke of freedom in the way of behaving, as the political student ferments of Paris and the feminist movements throughout Europe of the same era did with other terms, purposes and languages. Vintage style chairs are much more than a set of features and materials: they are a piece of history. The Viennese models, for example, or also known as Thonet, with curved wooden lines and backs full of details, are so called after Michael Thonet. He was a cabinetmaker who invented the technique for making wood malleable and thus designing chairs with sinuous shapes, with curls and curves, which soon became very popular in cafés throughout Vienna.

The lining also covers a part of the legs which are slightly inclined inwards. For some models, even the construction process could be described as “vintage” it is handmade: it is; the case of the handcrafted wooden chairs, which have a wicker seat and backrest in Viennese rattan straw woven one by one.
