COATINGS
Leather is obtained with a manufacturing process that makes it stiffer, thicker and therefore suitable for making chair seats and backs, covering of rigid parts such as table legs and with a typical plate stitching process.
It is a very resistant and long-lasting material, provided that it is good quality leather, otherwise after a few months or years the product with even normal use it will inevitably be compromised. So a good rule, be wary of chairs that are too cheap but remember that when you buy a good leather chair you are making a small investment that will last for many years.
Bonded leather or regenerated leather of leather fibers, is produced by processing packaging waste, tanning residues and finishing of leather or leather products. The processing initially takes place by finely grinding the leather residues (60% - 80%) and then mixing them with natural latex.
The mixture is then treated and transformed, with special machinery, into slabs of various thicknesses, which are subsequently trimmed, finished and painted.
Regenerated leather, even if it has recently been improved, is therefore recommended for sporadic and non-continuous use as, being devoid of the natural elasticity of real leather, in the medium term it can give resistance problems and scratches due to normal use.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Dust your chair regularly with a clean, soft and dry cloth. Water, liquids and detergents should never be applied. If the coating of your product gets wet, do not intervene with a hairdryer but use absorbent kitchen paper or a soft cloth and dab the wet part.
In the case of stains created by soluble substances (tea, coffee, milk, etc.), It is necessary to quickly dab the liquid with a white, non-abrasive cloth, then dry immediately with a clean cloth, avoiding impregnating the surface of the leather. As regards stains containing grease: remove the stain with a dry cloth or absorbent paper without doing pressure, preventing the fat from penetrating deeply. Proceed on the stain with a cloth lightly soaked in a natural detergent diluted with water. Remove the stain with circular movements, starting from the outside towards the centre.
